North East Flap Course
THE NORTH EAST FLAP COURSE
The North East Flap course was first held in 2005 and over the years it has established a reputation for excellence internationally.
Mr Wokes is the Course Director of the annual four-day course held at the Newcastle Surgical Training Centre. Faculty from throughout the UK and Europe are invited by Mr Wokes to attend this renowned surgical training course.
The course concentrates on the practical anatomy of local, pedicled and free flaps covering all the regions of the body. Fresh cadaveric specimens allow participants to get first-hand experience of flap-raising with supervision from the knowledgeable faculty. The dissections are complemented by lectures, clinical tutorials and videos delivered throughout the course.
THE COURSE IN BRIEF
A four day course on fresh cadaveric specimens, concentrating on the practical anatomy of flaps relevant to plastic surgery. The Course is based full time in the NTSC, and participants are allocated four per cadaver, divided into two per side. The dissections will be complemented by lectures and clinical tutorials, videos and lectures.
There is an additional option of Observing the dissections only, and these numbers are limited to 4 per cadaver. Any choice of days can be selected.
