Deciding to undergo Labiaplasty can be a big decision. Please read our frequently asked questions to give you peace of mind over any concerns.
A labiaplasty can be performed using Local or General anaesthetic. The excess or redundant labial tissue is removed and the labia are reshaped to give a symmetrical appearance.
Most patients will have labiaplasty surgery as a day case procedure unless it is combined with other procedures. Mr Wokes will provide pain killer and antibiotics for 1 week. You will be advised to clean the areas after going to the toilet and are likely to need a week off work and driving. Swelling takes several weeks to improve and you should avoid sexual and sporting activities for 6 weeks.
All surgery involves scars but labiaplasty scars are usually very discreet and not noticeable after 6 weeks. Wound care and scar management advice will be given by Mr Wokes.
Labiaplasty surgery is a completely safe procedure if performed by a professional and registered plastic surgeon. Mr Wokes will be able to answer all your questions and any concerns you may have during an initial consultation. He will also be able to ensure it is the right procedure for you and make bespoke recommendations. As with all aesthetic surgery procedures there are risks but these are minimised with expert surgical technique and post-operative wound care.
