What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are non-surgical injections used to reduce facial wrinkles, improve facial volume, and help to align facial features. The filler material, usually made from hyaluronic acid, is injected into the face or lips and absorbed by the body, making fillers a temporary solution to a more youthful appearance.
If you have fine lines, wrinkles, and signs of ageing, it can affect your quality of life. Adapting your diet and lifestyle can have a positive effect, but some people also turn to dermal fillers.

Where can you have Dermal Fillers?
Under-eye bags or puffy eyes
Eyelids can be treated with fillers, specifically tear through fillers, to help reduce heavy eyelids and dark circles to give a softer, brighter natural look. The results are completely subtle and will help keep your face looking younger and refreshed for up to 12 months.
Lips
Fillers may be recommended for patients who have lost volume from their lips due to age related factors such as loss of collagen and elasticity. Lip Filler can help maintain the natural shape of lips and give them a plump appearance within 48 hours of treatment.
Cheek augmentation
Cheek fillers can help plump the face and give you greater definition by lifting and sculpting the cheekbones.
Temples
Temple fillers act by giving your face a mini facelift by reducing signs of ageing and increasing skin hydration giving you a glowing and radiant appearance.

Book a ConsultationFrequently Asked Questions
Undergoing plastic surgery is a major decision and you must be aware of what the treatment entails. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions people ask before making a final decision.
During a consultation you will be able to discuss the reason why you are wanting the filler injections and Mr Wokes will be able to inform you if it is the right treatment for you or whether you would benefit from a different procedure. There are a variety of filler compositions and each is ideal for a relatively small number of indications. It is essential that the correct filler is used in the correct anatomical site.
Dermal Fillers are not permanent. Filler results can be seen immediately and may last up to 12 months. For Optimal results it is recommended to have follow up treatment to ensure you get the results intended.
Following dermal filler treatment, there is some aftercare that’s needed to assure the best results. After the filler has been injected, you might experience some of the following symptoms:
- Swelling
- Bruising
- Red needle puncture marks
- Asymmetry
- Tenderness
- Itching
The full results of the fillers may not be visible for up to four weeks as it takes time for the filler to settle into the skin. Until then, it’s important that you follow aftercare procedures. These differ depending on treatment but typically include avoidance of heat and pressure on the face and gentle hygiene treatments.
Once you have received your dermal filler treatment you can resume normal activities except for aftercare protocols such as avoiding heat, skincare treatments and alcohol.
Dermal fillers are not an instant solution to fine lines, wrinkles, or lip augmentation; the treatment takes time to deliver the expected results. It also requires careful dermal filler aftercare. Expect at least one follow-up and possibly more to get the results you deserve.
Dermal Fillers are safe if performed correctly with an aseptic no touch technique. Like most procedures there can be complications from dermal fillers. Mr Wokes will go through all potential problems in detail and answer any questions you may have.
